More country means you can run more cattle. Land counts toward your net worth on the leaderboard.
A bull runs with your cows and sires every calf born on the place. Calves get half their genes from mum and half from dad, so a better bull means calves that grow faster (a higher ADG) and sell for more. Or buy straws of semen and use AI (artificial insemination) from the AgriEID app on the homestead screen: the best bulls in the country, without buying them.
Buy one and you choose the spot. A truck with a crane brings it out and sets it down. Guests pay every month: creek frontage books best, and nobody wants to sleep next to the yards. Cabins count toward your net worth.
Live lots. Station lots often go under saleyard value if you time your bid. Bidding in the last few seconds extends the clock.
Add to the homestead a room at a time, until it is a mansion. Each one is built the moment you pay for it: go inside to see it.
The rooms are added to the homestead itself. To walk through them, tap π Go inside on the homestead menu, or pull up at the homestead's front gate and tap Go inside. The grand hall is through the door beside the fireplace.
Jobs that build something, and pay for the doing. Tap one to start.
See how it works in 30 seconds: your station, the cattle work and the village.
Names are one each. If someone already has yours, you get a number on the end.
Optional. Only the people who run Cattle Baron see this. Other players never do.
Your AI friends are part of the game. What you type to them stays on this device: it is not sent anywhere.
Your best buddy rides along with you and goes on adventures. Everyone in your crew talks to you on the walkie-talkie, about the things they know best.
Pull back from the white ball and let go: the further you pull, the harder the shot. Pot a red, then a colour, then a red⦠When the reds are gone, the colours in order: yellow, green, brown, blue, pink, black.
Keep it friendly. Messages are checked, and links, phone numbers and email addresses are taken out.
Only players on the same Wi-Fi (the same internet connection) as you appear here. Tap a player to join them. If they are out mustering you go straight into their paddock, with their cattle, to help push the mob to the yards. If they are not, you will be taken there the moment they start. There is $500 in it for you when the whole mob is in. Tap πΈ to send someone some of your cash.
At the homestead
Fire up the barbecue, put a pig on the spit, and get the trampoline and the jumping castle out on the front lawn. They will turn up on horses, in side-by-sides and utes, on quad bikes, in the cattle truck, by helicopter and in a light plane.
Cattle walk away from pressure. Get behind the mob in the side-by-side and push them to the yards in the far corner of the paddock, near the homestead. The fences funnel them in.
Launch the drone to get around the far side quickly. Fly low for more pressure. Leave it hovering to hold one flank while you drive the other.
Charge in too fast or too close and they spook. A calm mob scores more.
Short on time? To the yards under the map sends the stockhands to bring in whatever is still out. You only score the cattle you yarded yourself.
On a phone or tablet: steer with the joystick, pinch with two fingers to zoom, and hold π£ for the auto horn.
| WASD / arrows | Drive, or fly the drone |
| Space | Brake Β· drone up |
| Shift | Turbo in the side-by-side Β· wheelie on the bike Β· drone down |
| B | Swap side-by-side / motorbike |
| QE | Drone sideways |
| Tab or F | Swap buggy / drone |
| R | Recall the drone |
| H | Horn. Hold it to leave it sounding, hold again to stop |
| C | Recentre the view behind you |

| G | Open or close the yard gate |
| Esc | Pause |
Hit the dirt jumps at speed for air. The creek is slow to wade: use the timber bridge, or launch over it from one of the creek jumps (you will want about 60 km/h). Air time, wheelies and clearing the creek earn a few bonus points.
The black bull is not part of the muster. Crowd him or sound the horn nearby and he paws the ground. Back off then, or he charges.
There are crocodiles in the dam. Dawdle near the water and one comes out after your tyres: floor it and you will outrun it. If it bites, that tyre is flat and you are down to a crawl. Limp out over the cattle grid to the workshop by the homestead (the yellow square on the map), stop on the apron and hold PUMP (or E) until the tyres are up.
The side-by-side, the motorbike and the tractor each have a tank, and the fuel gauge shows on screen whenever you are driving. Fill up at the overhead tank beside the workshop, or at the tank trailer by the crop paddock (both red on the map): pull up, then hold FILL UP or E. Fuel is $2 a litre. Run dry and you are down to a crawl: a jerry can brought out to you costs $40.
Cows that look wide through the middle are in calf. When one starts calving, a pink beam and a 30-second clock appear over her and the prompt shows which way and how far. Drive to her and slow right down inside the pink ring (it turns green). Then lend a hand: green PUSH blocks slide along the lane at the top. Hold Space (or hold your finger down) while a block is on the white line, and let go in between. Help in time and you earn bonus points and a stronger calf. If you do not get there she calves on her own.
Each beast: catch her in the head bail, scan the EID tag, record the weight once the scales settle, vaccinate in the neck, draw up the right drench dose for her weight, then run the pour-on along her back.
Every step is scored for accuracy and the clock is running. Fast and tidy wins.
Points become cash. Buy pens at the saleyards, or bid in the online auction. Weighed and treated cattle grow faster and sell for more. Prices move, so buy low and sell high.
Buy more land through the saleyards screen to run more cattle. At the shop you can add a machinery shed, a workers' cottage (room for a third station hand) and a homestead extension.
The old tractor comes with the place: choose π Tractor work from the homestead menu, or from the β° Menu button in the paddock. Tractor work in the pegged paddock has three stages, and each one pays a $1,000 bonus when it is finished: 1. plough the paddock, 2. seed it (or buy the drone spreader, fly the four corner pegs and it seeds by itself), then, when the crop comes up a few seconds later, 3. cut and bale it. You are paid for every bale as well. Then it is back to stage 1. With a drone pilot on the staff, tap the drone button in the crop paddock and they seed it for you, then fertilise the crop and spray the weeds: each of those makes the bales worth 25% more. A crop left standing is grazed by the mob instead, for three months at an extra half a kilo a head a day. The store's Machinery shelf sells a bigger tractor, a round baler and a header.
Every muster pays a $1,000 bonus too, as soon as the gate shuts, on top of the round's score. If you leave the stockhands to bring in the rest (To the yards), you get the share you yarded yourself.
Spend your pay at Rural Supplies: a motorbike, the turbo kit, a longer-lasting drone battery, a bull bar, an air horn and extras. The animal health shelf sells vaccine, drench, pour-on and AgriEID ear tags: every beast through the crush uses a dose of each, and calves born on your place need a tag before they can be scanned, weighed or sold. Run out and that job is skipped.
π₯ Staff (on the homestead menu, and under β° Menu in the paddock) is where you put on a jackaroo or jillaroo, on horseback, on a motorbike or flying a mustering drone, for a day's wage. They muster on their own, walking the tail of the mob to the yards, and in the yards they put cattle through the crush alongside you (or press Let the staff finish). Give them their orders with the pace button: Slow, Medium, Fast, or Auto to let them judge it.
Go inside the homestead from the menu, or out of the side-by-side: during a muster, drive over the cattle grid and up the track to the homestead's front gate, stop, and press E (or tap Go inside). The muster clock waits while you are indoors. Have a look round: walk with WASD or the joystick and drag to look about. Stoke the fire, raid the fridge, pat the dog, check the herd on the office computer, and see your rodeo trophies on the mantelpiece. The homestead extension from the store opens up a games room.
The Cabins tab at the saleyards sells a safari tent, a tiny cabin and an A-frame lodge to let on Airbnb. Pick the spot yourself: move it round the paddock, turn it, and set it down where the ground is green. A crane truck delivers it. Guests pay every month, with more for creek frontage and less beside the yards.
Take a day trip to town from the homestead menu. In the steer roping, ride after the steer, hold Space to swing the rope and let go when the ring under him turns green, then tap fast to put him on the ground and time three presses to tie his legs. In the horse trial, ride between the gold beams: bend the poles, jump the rails with Space and round the barrel. Fast times win a buckle, a trophy and prize money (once a month for each event; the entry fee is $40).
π Station works (homestead menu and β° Menu) lists the building jobs. With a bulldozer, push the scrub off the airstrip east of the paddock; then slash it with the tractor's slasher (it grows back every month). Once there is a strip you can buy a light plane and fly it: hold forward to take off, Space to climb, Shift to come down. With an excavator, dig a swimming hole beside the waterfall in the eastern hills, and an irrigation channel from the creek to the crop paddock, which makes every crop bale a quarter heavier: pull up at each peg and hold E to dig. Fencing contracts need nothing bought: bang in the posts with the tractor (hold E at each peg), then run the wire out past every post in the side-by-side. Every job pays as you go, with a bonus when it is finished.
You start every muster in the side-by-side. Pull up and press B (or the swap button) to step through your rides: the π stock horse comes with the place, then the motorbike, cattle truck and helicopter once you have bought them at the rural store's Vehicles shelf. The horse is slower, but cattle stay calm around it, it can work in closer, and it never needs fuel or tyres. While you fly the drone, whatever you were riding follows along behind.
The π mustering helicopter lifts off by itself. Fly with WASD or the joystick, Space (β²) to climb and Shift (βΌ) to come down. Cattle walk away from the gold ring under it, from more than twice as far as the drone reaches, so one pass behind the mob moves the lot. Stay above 6 metres: any lower and they spook. It is thirsty, so watch the fuel gauge, and land beside a fuel tank to fill up. To get out, put her down and swap rides.
The π cattle truck is slow, but cattle are used to it and let it pull up right beside them. Stop and press E (or Load cattle) and up to eight head walk up the ramp. Drive to the yard gate and press E again to unload them straight into the yards. Owning one also halves the saleyard commission, because you cart your own sale cattle.
Playing with others is for people on the same Wi-Fi (the same internet connection) only: nobody anywhere else can see you, join you, talk to you or send you anything. π€ Join a game lists everyone playing on your Wi-Fi. Tap someone who is out mustering and you are in their paddock helping with their cattle; tap someone who is not and you go the moment they start. π» Radio lets you say g'day: tap a set phrase, type a short message, or tap π€ and say it out loud to have it typed for you. Messages are checked before they go: rude ones are not sent, and links, phone numbers and email addresses are taken out. Never give anyone your address or phone number. π€ My profile is where you change your name and, if you like, say what town you are from.
To count players, the game notes the kind of device and browser you play on and roughly where you are (the town your internet address is in). Your name, and a town or postcode if you choose to add one, are kept with your saved game. None of it is shown to other players except your name.
There is nothing to sign up for. The game saves itself as you play, on this device and on the server, and opens straight back where you left off. If the browser forgets it, typing the same name on the same Wi-Fi brings it back. Switch player at the bottom of the homestead menu lets someone else have a turn without losing yours. You also earn a play bonus of $50 for every minute you play.
Anyone on the same Wi-Fi can join from the address shown at the homestead. You'll see their buggies and drones, bid against them at auction, and race them up the leaderboard.
